Well, it seems that after a few last, glorious days, the summer is finally over in this part of the world where I’m privileged to live, and winter is poised to send us indoors once more to sample its gentler pleasures – hearty food and a glass of red wine; leisurely evenings by a crackling fire in the company of friends and family; the smell of wet soil after a good Cape rain shower and the sight of clouds lifting from the Helderberg after the storm has passed ... And my heart, for one, is beating warmly at the thought!

Jazz it up with the King in Ghent

From 7 to 17 July 2011, the two NH properties in Ghent will jazz things up to get into the spirit of the annual Ghent Jazz Festival.
